At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, Topcon Positioning Systems unveiled a new suite of advanced 3D machine control, geomatics, and safety technologies designed to enhance productivity and efficiency across construction workflows.
The latest updates center on Topcon’s 3D-MC machine control platform, which delivers real-time guidance for excavation, grading, and paving operations. A key innovation, 3D-MC Edge, improves accuracy by focusing directly on the machine’s cutting edge, helping contractors achieve precise grading while reducing rework and material waste.
For excavator applications, Topcon introduced several new features aimed at boosting safety and performance. These include slope control for automated bucket positioning, hybrid lock technology that ensures continuous tracking by seamlessly switching between GNSS and robotic total station systems, and onboard load weighing to prevent overloading and optimize transport efficiency.
Topcon also presented the GTS-M1 robotic total station, designed for high-precision applications in challenging environments where satellite signals may be limited. Complementing this is the Topcon Awareness System, an AI-powered safety solution that uses cameras to detect blind spots and potential hazards, improving on-site safety and operational visibility.
In addition, the Topcon Site Manager cloud platform enables remote data sharing, fleet management, and real-time productivity tracking, supporting a fully connected job site. The LM-1000 load weighing system further enhances safety and efficiency for loader operations.
Expanding into building construction, Topcon introduced Topcon Origo, a handheld spatial positioning system for interior layout, delivering accurate positioning without the need for calibration.
These innovations reflect Topcon’s commitment to a unified, connected platform that helps contractors reduce downtime, improve accuracy, and maximize project efficiency.
